This volume explores the crisis experiences of the restored democratic republic of Lithuania.The first two chapters in the volume present an overview of crisis management in transitional countries in general and the state of the crisis management system in Lithuania in particular during the first decade of restored independence (1990-2000). Subsequent chapters are devoted to the analysis of a number of political, social, economic, and environmental crises that occurred in Lithuania during the first post-Soviet decade.
