Christer Brown

Christer Brown is acting Training Director at CRISMART. He is also involved in CRISMART’s analytical support activities and various research projects. Christer’s additional research interests include crisis/emergency management planning, international disaster/humanitarian crisis management, the role of gender in crisis management, and South and Southeast Asian security issues, including piracy. Christer is also a PhD student at the Institute for Management Science at Radboud University Nijmegen (the Netherlands) (http://www.ru.nl/fm/verbeek/). His thesis work aims at investigating the process, political and otherwise, behind the development of crisis plans. Christer is otherwise actively involved in the Swedish Red Cross crisis preparedness mechanism and spent 18 months with the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia as team leader for a field-level humanitarian monitoring team.
