The European Crisis Management Academy (ECMA) is a joint initiative of the Leiden University Crisis Research Centre, The Netherlands, www.crc.leidenuniv.nl and CRISMART. ECMA is a European network for crisis managers and academics with an interest in research, training and development of this field of study and practice. CRISMART was the organizer of the ECMA Conference “Foundations for Cooperative European Crisis Management: Establishing Common Ground” in Stockholm, November 22-23, 2001. This international conference focused on crisis management and research, and commemorated the launch of ECMA. The conference built upon the 1999 Conference “The Future of European Crisis Management” which was held in The Hague, The Netherlands. The most recent ECMA conference took place in Stockholm in May 2006.

CRISMART collaborates with The Swedish Institute of International Affairs in a number of areas, primarily in the facilitation of research networks abroad and also with a joint research project about the developing crisis management capacity within the European Union.
The Swedish Emergency Management Agency, SEMA

The Swedish Emergency Management Agency, along with EU/INTAS, supports CRISMART's research program CM Europe. Within the program CRISMART collaborates with a variety of universities and research institutes. There are research teams affiliated with CRISMART in the Nordic and Baltic countries, Poland, Russia, the Netherlands, Slovenia and the USA.
Other CRISMART partners include Crisisplan, Leiden University Crisis Research Centre, Disaster Research Center at University of Delaware, Critical Incident Analysis Group, Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs at Syracuse Univessity, Cranfield University, Finnish Institute of International Affairs, Institute of International Affairs at the University of Latvia, University of Ljubljana, and Warsaw University.
