CRISMART - the National Center for Crisis Management Research and Training
CRISMART, a part of the Swedish National Defence College in Stockholm, develops competence and fosters knowledge about national and international crisis management. We build bridges between practitioners and researchers in an effort to strengthen the national and European crisis management capability.
CRISMART consists of a core group of more than a dozen researchers at the Swedish National Defence College as well as an international network of around 100 analysts in over ten countries. Doctor Eric Stern leads this center of competence.

CRISMART Director Eric Stern and founding Director Bengt Sundelius have co-authored with Arjen Boin of Leiden University and Paul 't Hart of Utrect University a new book published by Cambridge University Press: The Politics of Crisis Management - Public Leadership Under Pressure. The authors examine how leaders deal with the strategic challenges they face, the political risks and opportunities they encounter, the errors they make, the pitfalls they need to avoid, and the paths away from crisis they may pursue. This book is grounded in over a decade of collaborative, cross-national case study research, and offers an invaluable multidisciplinary perspective.
